Zapatos Shopping in La Manuel Alpargatra

Some of the Many Shoes in the Store
Sofia's Shoes

Sofia's Shoes in Front, Mine in the Middle, and Mom's in the Back
The girls in my family and my brother went to La Manuel Alpargatera which is a famous shoe store in Spain that has won numerous awards, receives many good reviews, and is even visited by celebrities. It opened in the forties after the Spanish Civil War and is still known by many people today. In fact, when we were there we saw quite a few tourists happily purchasing one of the thousand pairs of handmade shoes available. Aside from shoes at surprisingly great prices (starting at only eight euros for a pair) they also had bags and hats for sale, including one fashionable hat that my sister, Olivia, quickly made a decision to buy.  Certainly this store was worth the trip for there was a very large variety of  good quality shoes, and, because we went to this shop, we got to see the type of shoes popular for Spaniards as well as where they get them.

  2. Very cute shoes! Where's Nolan's? Is it just for women and girls?

    1. Thanks! They didn't really have boys' shoes and Nolan prefers to spend more money on food than shoes. :) He got french fries along with mozzarella sticks the day we went to the shoe store, which kept him happy and not complaining about shopping.
